The reading is quite interesting and the invention of net.art is remarkably unique. I’ve never known of the concept of net.art and finding out that it was discovered by a glitch in 1995 is fascinating. Countless artists have invested their time in creating extraordinary pieces of online art and forms of communication through internet art. As cool as net.art is there a certain artists that have struck me as some of the most popular and creative net artists there are. These artists are äda’web, Irational.org, and Jodi.org.
When I visited these websites they struck me as very odd although Jodi.org was the most captivating piece of net.art I’ve seen. The website is undoubtedly outlandish, to say the least but I feel like that's what makes the website so interesting. It made me curious on what to click next and what type of odd and unusual art I would see.
By the end of the article, they begin to talk about the future of net.art. The internet and the online world in general are rapidly moving and releasing new content at a constant pace. The last paragraph specified the term “hacktivist”. It makes me wonder what the role of hackers will have to do with net.art.
Net.art in my opinion is something that is no different from ordinary handmade art using a pen, pencil, brush, or tablet. Whatever is creative, sends a message, and captivates the viewer is considered art to me.
