This is my final artist statement for my Webventure project. My final theme was a Lego online adventure where you have four options to pick from which lead you to various paths and it's all in Legos! It was fun but it was also time-consuming because it required a lot of creative thinking, troubleshooting, web page management, and patience. I’d like to talk about some of the things I wish I had done and specific areas I found the most challenging.
What I wish I would’ve done if I had more time was make it longer. My computer was starting to get quite slow the more pages I added therefore I couldn’t add as many as I hoped. If my computer weren’t so slow I would’ve added more. Furthermore, I feel like my web venture was lackluster in the comedy aspect, I felt like if I added some more easter eggs and dumb humor it would’ve been more captivating to the audience.
What I found the most challenging was how time-consuming this was. Animating, creating gifs, linking, organizing, naming, and designing the icons took so much time to create. Plus there were moments where my mind went blank and I couldn’t come up with anything. But I persevered and I was able to create a nice Lego webventure.
Am I happy with my project? Yes, I am. The reason for this is because it's simple and not confusing. There are some things I could’ve changed or made differently but overall I think it looks good. It’s clear and concise, and it's all LEGOS!!!
